Having A Boy

When I found out I was pregnant the first thing I wished for was for my baby to be healthy, never mind the gender. The second thing was: "Okay maybe I do care about the gender. Can it be a girl?" Of course I wanted a baby girl if only for the clothes!!
Suri Cruise. Zomg. (Take from HERE)

Fast forward to ultrasound day. Turned out I was having a boy. I won't lie, I was a bit sad. My husband on the other hand was secretly rejoicing as he wanted a junior. But what about the clothes?? Go baby clothes shopping and 80% of the items you see are for girls. That was truly my main concern.

Of course everything was forgotten the moment I held my little boy in my arms. I was sad for nothing. SM and H&M have pretty cool clothes for boys. :)

L: Paisley print polo from SM and R: Rolling Srones t-shirt from H&M

My cousin Vina, who is currently pregnant, came to me a few months ago looking very down. She had just come from an ultrasound and she's to have a boy. She took it harder than I did. She was also worried about the cothes. I told her it was going to be okay and that everything will change once she holds her baby in her arms. It will take a few more months before she gets what I'm talking about so until then, I present to you my top 5 outfits for boys. Let's get creative.

5) Bogart the explorer costume. Hello. What could be better?

4) Funny swimming gears. Most of my friends know all about my Swimava addiction. Honestly I don't know how girls would look like if they wore this, but boys do "dorky" better. Yes, I let him wear a swim cap, too. What. It's cute!

3) Wait there is something better than Bogart. Ang Panday.

2) Sandong butas butas. We've seen them on boys and secretly wished we could wear them.

1) I call this the John Lloyd...

The Lord's Prinshoppe

When I was planning my wedding, I resorted to DIY-ing some of the elements, such as the invitations and the entourage dresses. One word: Stress. Perhaps another entry.

At the time I was still studying in SLIMS and one of my classmates suggested that I have our invitations printed at The Lord's Printshoppe. I had already found a printer so I didn't get to go to "The Lord," but with a name like that, well of course I'd always remember "The Lord." I kept their contact details in my phone book for future use and even referred them to some of my friends.

And not long after I did need "The Lord." Raza is finally joining a bridal fair (for those of you who don't know, my friend/business partner Rach and I make formal wear). We needed nice flyers and business cards so it was a perfect excuse to come to "The Lord."

And we weren't disappointed. Great service! We claimed our flyers and business cards a day after paying. Very reliable. Just like? You guessed it.

Lifeproof

I'm known to be a clutz. Everyone who knows me knows this. I bump things, drop things and break things. One of my favorite things to drop and break is my phone.
Third time I dropped and broke my phone

My husband has been bugging me for years to get a Lifeproof case but I just found it too expensive. So after 3 screen replacements and after receiving a new phone, I finally decided to buy one. And I love it! why did I ever wait this long?

Now I'm kind of obsessed with it. I am with my phone 24/7. Even in the shower. It's unhealthy, I know. I keep on washing it too. haha.

Birthday Loot

Today I am 29.

I always say I am grateful for everything God has given me, and every time I say it I mean it with all my heart. I have everything I could possibly want and need so any extra thing I receive along the way is just an added bonus. And boy did I get a huge bonus. Here are some things I got for my birthday:

From my husband:

A new phone! Yay! When he said he got me a new phone, I told him: "but I don't need a new one..." Hah. Of course I did! Gosh my old phone had a huge crack on the screen and was about to die.

A dresser. Finally. No more brushes, makeup, and clips on the sink! Since we just moved in our new home 7 months ago, we still have a lot of things to buy for the house. Glad to check this one off the list. I promised my husband I'd keep it tidy at all times. Woops.

From my friends:

My friend, Rach, gave me two of the things I've been wanting to buy all summer. Although she swears I mentioned it to her right before my birthday so that she could get them for me. Tssssscoursenotwhodoesthat?? Haha.

First is the Lip Tar. I LOVE IT! I love it! The color is so bright and pretty. And It has staying power. I ate (a lot) and drank with it and it did not fade. But the best thing about it is that I only used a teeny weeny drop (smaller than a dippin' dot!). A little goes a long, long way.

Next, my hair donut. I just saw this at some teenager's blog. Yes. Nakikibagets. I just found it so cool. For those of you who are curious, it turns your hair into this:
Perfect for my mahaderang nanay look

My sister-in-law, Princess, gave me this book because she knew that my milk supply was decreasing. It's a great recipe book because you don't need a lot of ingredients. Just Malunggay and some things you already have in your kitchen. I already tried 2 recipes- Malunggay pesto and Laing. Both very good.

And last but not least..

My friends, Luigi and Charrie, said they thought of me right away when they saw this. I don't exactly know if that's a good thing, but I LOVE IT!!! It earned a place on my dresser. I think I like being special.

To all those who remembered my birthday, thank you! Thank you for making it special every year.

Eve and Co Sale

Eve & Co. Floral and Event Styling is known for their quirky and vintage/shabby chic style and adorable props. I think it takes a lot of creativity and an eye for detail to make an event look like what it's suppose to look. They also did the reception decor and bouquets during our wedding.

So imagine my excitement when my friend told me that Eve and Co was having a sale... Yes. This is just what I need. Cheap findssss.

It took a while for us to get to their warehouse but it was worth it. I didn't take a photo of the warehouse because the moment I entered, I just lost it and grabbed whatever I could. Here's what we got:

Dikit-dikit na vase

Cookie jar. Got two of these

Chalkbaord. We put this beside our buffet table

Crates that now serve as wine/jack racks

Umbra frames for PHP 150!

I used one already.

Fish bowl and rack. Nic insisted on putting real fish. :/ Not a pet person.

Lamp

Pink espresso cups and Audrey Hepburn tea cups!

This originally white cabinet which I repainted and distressed.

We replaced our TV with this sign. It's a lovely message and a great daily reminder.

We will take good care of them, Eve and Co! Have another sale!

Yarn bombing

My friend Angela takes such nice photos that's why I always check out Instagram account. Then I saw this:

Angela's Instagram account

So I asked her what yarn bombing was, and she told me that it's a type of graffiti that uses knitted yarn.

After that I was itching to yarn-bomb some trees but a) I didn't know how to knit and b) we were living at a condo at the time so I didn't have trees to yarn bomb. So I just set that idea aside, pinned it on my mental Pinterest board.

Fast forward to the week when I saw some yarn-bombed trees in the fort! They didn't even use knitted yarns. They just used those rags being sold on the street. Clever. And very pinoy I must say.

Since we had already moved in our new home (with trees!), I decided to waste no time and yarn bomb! Perfect for summer! This is it!!! Okay. I did waste time. It took me 2 more weeks to buy some yarn.

I picked bright colours for summer. I even bribed the husband and our friend to help me yarn bomb.

Tadaaa!
